EHRA-PATHS: systematic comorbidity management in AF

15 January 2026
Organised by: logo
Course Atrial Fibrillation (AF) 5h 15min Subspecialty

After completing this eLearning course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the impact of multimorbidity in atrial fibrillation patients
  • Understand current gaps in management (patient and physician perspectives)
  • New care pathways to systematically address multi-morbidity in AF patients

Pre-requisites:

Participants in the programme can be physicians (both primary care, cardiologists, internists; formed or in training) or allied professionals familial with AF in daily care.

Participants should be knowledgeable about AF, its consequences, diagnosis and treatment options.

The course gives a concise overview of the scope of the EHRA-PATHS project, building a framework of concise care pathways to support a systematic and uniform approach to comorbidities in patients with atrial fibrillation. The course cannot yet provide the results from the RCT testing the newly developed approach, which is still ongoing and will only be able to present results in 2026. That module will be appended as a fourth one in early 2027. Nevertheless, physicians will already appreciate the scope of the comorbidity problem, the lack of an integrated approach now, and the building blocks to address existing gaps. That awareness and that focus on solutions may already lead to improved care for patients with AF.

Free for everyone
